ADMISSIONS DEPARTMENT OFFICES

UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA

Transforming a shell into a haven for excellence:

Following the opening of a new Admissions Visitors Center, the University of Pennsylvania entrusted Ford 3 with crafting a dedicated space for the Admissions Department's private operations. This 12,400 sq ft suite in an off campus building seamlessly integrates functionality with privacy, catering to the critical application review season workflow.

Light & Flow – Key Design Principles:

· Maximizing natural light: With a deep floor plate, Ford 3 strategically employed design elements to bathe the interior in daylight, fostering a vibrant and stimulating atmosphere.

· Optimized space allocation: Prioritizing the department's unique needs, the layout ensures efficient movement and collaboration, while carved-out private spaces offer confidentiality for vital decision-making.

· Furnishing for function: Tailored furniture enhances workflows, promoting productivity and comfort during peak application periods.

Project Highlights:

· Cost-effective excellence: Built at $139/sq ft (including common areas), the project exceeded expectations within budget.

· Adaptability in challenging times: Construction amidst the pandemic posed unique obstacles, but the team delivered on schedule with only a 2% cost increase linked to pandemic protocols.

More than just an office, this suite embodies the University's commitment to innovation and excellence, providing the Admissions Department with a space to shape the future of UPenn.
