FIFTH AVENUE

PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

KIRKLAND CHAPEL

INTERIOR RENOVATION & ORGAN REPLACEMENT

The Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church is the largest Presbyterian sanctuary in Manhattan. The main sanctuary building, a Victorian Gothic landmark, was designed in 1873.  The Curry Church House was added in 1925 providing offices and other support spaces for the thriving church. After completing an exterior stone restoration of both spaces in 2017, Ford 3 was asked to help with an overhaul of the Kirkland Chapel in the Curry Church House addition.

To meet the needs of a congregation 100 years after the initial design of the space, Ford 3 is overseeing restoration and/or replacement of finishes, replacement of the existing organ, updated lighting and mechanical systems, as well as programmatic and technological updates. New features like a labyrinth and mosaic will liven up the space and engage the congregation, complementing expanded music programming that will highlight a new organ and acoustic treatments. Ford 3 is proud to be working alongside an expert team of engineers and consultants to realize a successful future for Kirkland Chapel and Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church at large.
