A campus expansion of 35 picturesque acres created space to develop new teaching, residential, and community buildings for their School of Nursing. Ford 3 led the design team from the master plan through construction, designing new buildings that heighten and celebrate the sanctuary-like environment of the setting while embedding sustainable practices into all aspects of design and construction. The centerpiece of this development, a 6,400 SF Community Center, provides flexible space for spiritual gathering, lectures, informal sports, and music study. The building springs from the earth, placing the occupants in a meadow and providing views of the bucolic setting; the organic form takes on the surrounding characteristics and reflects the trees, sky, and natural lighting. Features include advanced AV, athletic wood flooring, and hidden retractable basketball hoop.
