Overview

Ford 3 Architects is a leading architecture design firm focused on creating distinctive, innovative and sustainable environments for our clients. Recognizing that architecture should be both aspirational and functional – it must delight and define – we use architecture to transform, restore and inspire. Focusing on our client’s perspective we develop solutions that support their mission and business goals while inspiring them to future success.

Culture

Celebrating our 10th anniversary in 2014, Ford 3 collaborates on ideas and designs from their office located in historic downtown Princeton. Under the leadership of Founding Partners Moira McClintock, Quinn Schwenker and Jerry Ford, our staff is at the core of the firm’s success. From the top down, our emphasis is on creativity and accountability. The level of service and attention to detail provided by our staff are the embodiment of this culture.

Approach

Committed to superior design, personalized client service and flawless execution, we believe architecture should engage the senses. In our work we utilize form, materials, light, color, texture, scale and sound to design projects that engage the user. Our team of professionals is dedicated to integrating place, technology and innovation to support our client’s goals. We work collaboratively with our clients and consultants.

Philosophy

Ford 3’s design philosophy is to learn from the past, understand the present, and create a future. Our projects are multi layered where solutions are developed by addressing multiple perspectives: contextual, program, human needs, sustainability and image. We embrace the tension between historic preservation and contemporary design. We study existing buildings for clues regarding original intent and purpose. Which elements have made it successful and which have failed? By applying a contemporary understanding of space, light and materials, our work captures the strength of each perspective.
